My Dilemma

Soccer Sandy (Levi's mum) has invited Zak to go to the Coast with them for a couple of days during the school holidays. The thought absolutely terrifies me. Zak would love it so much but everytime I start to think about it I get all anxious. I keep finding all these reasons why I should say no. Her car for a start.. its a shit box! I've got nothing against shit boxes.. unless they are transporting the most important thing of my life down a major highway. Then we get to the whole beach scenario. I'm the mother at the waters edge yelling and motioning for the kidlet to come back to shore when he is knee deep in water. What if Sandy looks away? Urgh.. yuck.. I think I've already made up my mind.. Zak will love vacation care. Most of my friends are telling me to let him go. I'm just not ready for it yet though.

Firstly..no..you're not being anal about the cords on the blinds..LOL That would really piss me off!! It would almost send my husband into a coma..he hates things twisted like that..especially electric cords (like on my hair dryer)..LOL
Secondly..it sounds to me like you've made your mind up about not letting Zak go which is fine. Does he know about it? If not..then he's not going to miss it.
I am such a stress head with 6 kids let alone 1 so I can totally understand where you're coming from. It's such a huge thing giving your child over to someone elses care. We've never had a big family support unit where we leave our kids with grandmothers, aunties etc and they've always been with us. My father takes the boys on extremely rare occasions but thats only been in the past 2 or so years since they've gotten a bit older. My dad is fantastic with my kids and I don't worry about them so much when they are with him. Anyone else is a different story. If you do decide to let him go though..keep this in mind. Soccer mum is probably just like the rest of us mums..when we have someone elses child in our care we do everything in our power to keep that child safe, warm and happy.
Cheers
