About Me

Bon Jovi rocks my world. So do the two little men in my life, Zak (13) and Robert (3). I love scrapbooking and cross stitch and, in a past life, ballroom dancing.

Some sadness

I had to say goodbye to an old friend earlier in the week. I still remember picking Booga up from the pet shop 18 years ago in Toowoomba. He was this cute little ball of orange fluff. He morphed into a handsome man and was part of my life for just over 18 years. The last few weeks he'd been going downhill - in no apparent pain.. but lots of weight loss.. unstable on his feet.. and then his nose all seemed to puss up (gross I know). Once I saw his nose I knew the time had come. I made that heartwrenching decision to let him go on Tuesday. The vet was unbelievably compassionate. Gave me all the options but I'd already made up my mind. After he went he just looked so peaceful. I know that sounds really cliched but I think seeing him sleeping made me feel much better. It's funny how a pet can make such an impact on your life - but I think back and realise that Booga and I had been through more than any partner and I had ever been through together. He never judged.. always loved a snuggle. Just sitting here typing this now it brings tears to my eyes. I'm having him cremated and am expecting him home on Monday. RIP old man - I miss you. Top photo was taken in 1998 and the bottom photo was last month.

Oh Shelley :o( I'm so sorry about the loss of your old man :o(

They really do become a part of the family - and for Booga to have been around for 18 years - he'd be one of your oldest friends.

At least he had a good run though and was loved for a very good 18 years!

Sending big hugs
