I'm scared!

So my well-behaved 12 year old boy appears to be disappearing before my eyes :( . I know one day we'll look back and laugh but man, he's pushing the limits at school. He dropped a behaviour level before the holidays. Which means he's lost his house captain badge. So I'm "that" mother. The mother of "that" kid. The kid who lost his leadership badge. Wish I could see the humour in it now and not have to wait until he's all growed up! So I've pulled in the reigns.. not sure if it will work. I hope it does. His teacher and the deputy principal have been fantastic. They both blame "negative influences". That doesn't wash with me. He knows better and it disappoints me that he's carrying on like this. The deputy principal assured me it wasn't anything serious just little stuff. I think part of his problem is boredom. He has been in the same class for almost 2 years now. It's a composite 6/7 boys only class. Grade 6 was awesome. But I guess he's starting to need more stimulation or something. Or I could be completely wrong and he's wrestling with some serious hormones lol. Anyway.. totally new high school away from all of his friends (and probably a bucket load new "negative influences" to meet lol) next year. I should clarify that I don't blame his friends. I think its just an excuse his teacher and the deputy principal use to make me feel better. But in saying that, he went to vacation care today and when I picked him up the coordinator was gushing about how freaking good he was.. well behaved, helpful etc etc. gahhh.. no one ever said pre-teens would be this hard lol. I should also say that he has the opportunity to get his badge back. If he goes back up to "responsible" behaviour he'll get it back.

Anyhoo, moving right along.. I've finished another square on my 12 blessings piece. Only 5 left to go! I'm over half way :)

xx

Oh Shelley I know how you feel. I also had a boy that gave me a run for my money. My two girls were a breeze and then he came along. But we all made it and I have the best young man (27 years old). Hang in there.
Your blessings is looking great.
Happy Stitching
