I knew I shouldn't have bragged. Earlier in the week I was sure I'd be able to finish Lest we Forget by this weekend. I'm so close (yet so far lol). Mid last week I came down with a horrible sore throat. It's still hanging around.. hopefully it will leave my body soon - because I'm over it.
So maybe I'll finish this one tonight?
I've got a teeny bit of pale yellow down on the left hand side and a wee bit of backstitch and then the shading behind the black soldiers. Its only half stitch though so I don't expect it to take me too long.
Hopefully my last progress shot before the finished version!
I've also taken a closer piccie of the Ode itself. Looks much better in real life.
I think I have decided to not frame it until Jason's Grandad passes away. His sister called us last night to tell us that he (Grandad) is worried that Jason wasn't going to go down to spend Anzac Day with him. That would never ever happen. I think the day is just as important to both of them. He has asked his daughter to take his suit to the Home for the dawn service. Makes me tear up just thinking about it. He is a very special man.
