About Me

My photo
Bon Jovi rocks my world. So do the two little men in my life, Zak (13) and Robert (3). I love scrapbooking and cross stitch and, in a past life, ballroom dancing.

Procrastinating.....
Ermmm.. ummm.. yeah anyway... I'm supposed to be preparing for an interview tomorrow. Pretty standard in the public service - have a substantive position and it gets upgraded.. have to apply bla bla bla. In saying that, nothing is ever guaranteed so I can't afford to not take it seriously. Nina - did I tell you its been upgraded to an AO7!!
So instead of sitting here preparing I'm doing my name tag for the Shop and Crop Creative Escape. Well it HAS to be done.. and while I'm waiting for the paint to dry on it I thought I'd come and blog.
I was tagged by Julie (I think its my first tag!) (http://takacsfamily.blogspot.com/ ) I don't know how to put Julie's name here so that it automatically links so I'll continue on my amateurish lil way. Anyway, I have to share 7 weird/random facts about me. Hmmm... only 7? ha ha.. nah I'm not really that weird (looking for confirmation here!)
1. I still have the first pet I bought when I moved out of home when I was 18 (thats a long long time ago - about 18 years now!) His name is Booga (yes... I was 18 and foolish and as a result the cat has had a dodgy name for 18 years).
2. I crack my knuckles and my toes (much to my family and friends disgust!)
3. I can wiggle my ears and flare my nostrils.
4. I met my father for the first time when I was 23.
5. Bon Jovi rocks (sorry - i HAD to include this one just to state the bleeding obvious!)
6. I love boiled peanuts.
7. I watch Home and Away (the shame of it all)

I don't know enough people to tag so I'll leave it here.

Another weird/random fact I'm sitting here as I type this bumdancing to Tribal Dance by 2Unlimited (wonders if anyone else remembers them???)

So anyway, I've decided the Tony Ferguson thing is not for me. I'm going for the healthy eating more movement option. Started today by walking Zak to before school care then myself onto the train station and home again. Fingers crossed I can keep it up and get rid of some of this excess salmon (thats what my dad calls it... "hmmm.. you're carrying a bit of excess salmon there"). I'm walking from the station to pick Zak up this arvy and LowRider by Cypress Hill comes on the Ipod... I was so tempted to start moving like the hip-hop guru I'm sure is deep down inside.. then suddenly realised I was crossing the highschool oval and it probably wouldn't look good... lol... gotta love it when you've got a tune that you really want to groove to. On my "to-do" list one day is to line dance down the aisle of the train to "Cottoneyed Joe"... I'm sitting here giggling about the thought of it.

Took some pics of Zak and Booga last night - poor old Booga will go anywhere for attention these days - it's quite rare for him to voluntarily subject himself to attention from young master Zak.

Anyway, the paint is dry so I should go back to my name tag.

Shelley :)
