Progress Shots

I've managed to make some good progress on both of my big WIPs. Oh yes.. I have three big WIPs but I'm calling the JBJ one a monster WIP. For so many reasons. The size, the number of threads, the number of times I've had to pull thread out.. need I go on? So it is on the hiatus pile - at least until I've finished Lest we Forget. Speaking of the treasure, I'll be so glad to finish this one. Lets just say yellow is NOT my colour. Am looking forward to finishing and giving it a wash to take out the ring marks. I've really noticed the flattened threads in this one - maybe because there are so many large chunks of solid colour? Anyway - without further ado...

And the Lizzie Kate. For my first effort at working with linen, I'm quite impressed with myself. I may even do it again!

We had a nice weekend here. Went and caught up with my Grandma today. We were once really really close. Long story short is that she didn't really approve of me getting to know my dad. Thats ok. She has her reasons. I think its time we re-connected. She only lives about 20 minutes from me and I'm ashamed to say that the last time I saw her was about 12 months ago in a hospital waiting room while we were waiting for news about one of my uncles. I'm going to change that.

xx

Hey - besides quilting my other hobby is researching my family history - I am currently working on my maternal grand fathers first world war records. Your
"Lest we forget" cross stitch looks beautiful.

I have Lest we Forgot in my UFO pile, I am going to pull it out and totally start again as I used the Aida from the kit - and now have a wonderful piece of hand dyed evenweave sitting there calling out for this design.
